When & Where
Practice times:
Saturdays: 10:30am to Noon
Mondays: 6pm to 7pm
Wednesdays: 6pm to 7pm
Practices are year round with heavy rain cancelling.
Practice Location
We meet at the entrance to Dock M at the Berkeley Marina. (125 University Ave. Berkeley, CA 94710). Please try to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out a waiver, select a paddle and a personal flotation device( PFD). Also make sure to give your self some time to stretch before hitting the water. You can come to 3 practices before we’ll ask to you join the Berkely Racing Canoe Club (BRCC) and the team for $100 a year.
Full time College students are $20 a year and members under 18 can paddle for free. Additional costs are required to enter races with fees that vary. We also have great Youth Activity Opportunities.
Who Can Come?
Almost anyone. You don’t have to know how to swim, or have ever paddled in a boat before. Just be willing to learn. This could be your first time over the water. You will have to work a bit though. And you can’t mind getting a litle wet. Wear clothes appropriate for the weather. Remember the Berkeley Marina can be very foggy!
