Race: Fremont Sprint Races at Horseshoe Lake - Near Quarry Lakes

Date: July 14, 2007 - SATURDAY

Logistics:

• Waivers: fill out CDBA waiver form if you didn't go to Redwood City(pdf) AND NCOCA waiver form(from 2006 might need newer form) and return to LINDA ASAP
• Approx Schedule
• Call Time 7:45 AM (Think 7:30 AM)
• PLEASE be on site, parked, with your gear unloaded, and ready to help set up the Team Tent by 8 AM
• Everyone needs to arrive early to help set-up tent, and get a good spot for your chair!
• We stretch and warm up before each race about 45 minutes early and line up/marshal 30 minutes before each race.
• 1st Race Marshall 8:25, warmups 8-8:15, Race Times TBD
• General Time frame: 8 AM to 4 PM
• What to bring:
• Racing Gear (Team Shirt (white), black (dark) shorts,paddle, PFD, etc.)
• Paddle - borrow one from team locker (butt pads also available in the PFD bin)
• Sunscreen, hat, jacket, warm clothing (fog and wind), change of clothes
• Portable Chair, sleeping pad (for napping), towel
• Potluck Contribution: TBD
• Water, snacks (water, food and snacks provided via potluck, but if you have specific needs)

  Take Decoto Road Exit
  Left off the Freeway (should be Decoto Road) - head east
  R on Paseo Parkway (go about a mile)

  From Mission Blvd (Hwy. 238) in Fremont, 
  turn south on Nursery Ave. (away from the hills) and 
  right (west) on Niles Blvd. 
  Turn left on Osprey Drive and 
  left on Quarry Lakes Drive. 
  Proceed to the park entrance on the left. 
   
  Parking is $5/vehicle

• RACE FORMAT
• The races will be held in Buk boats. The race distance will be 250 meters heading North to South. All mixed crews will receive three races with two seeding heats and a division final. All teams will then advance to the second round to determine their division and the final round will determine the winners of each division.
• The dragonboat heats will be interlaced with Outrigger races. Some paddlers will be participating in both types of events.
• PARKING:
• There is ample parking at the Park ($5).
